@alexedwards6509 It's the nature of government bureaucracy to end up where NHS is, now. USA maintains many fictions about free markets, but our health care is even more encumbered by bureaucrats than NHS. Nobody wants to be a doctor under this system, where gov't decides what you earn and how you can earn it. When you put 3rd parties in charge of ANY service, they care neither about the quality nor the price, and their only solutions to either one are to create more red tape and overstretch their resources, further their careers, and grow their fiefdoms. We see it in education, where the ratio of fulltime faculty to administration shrinks year by year. UK and USA are importing Indian doctors by the bushel. Look at health care in the Soviet Union.
