  3. Russia is not Hungary. Russia is not Iraq. Total air superiority is not in the cards in modern warfare against a modern great power in its own back yard. Projecting power costs money we don't have to spend, and relies on unity at home behind ceaseless adventurism that we do not and I pray never will have.

  4. 9:00 I think that's good analysis by Mr. Berletic, which begs the question "Were the American people let in on this plan, let alone asked if they think it's a good idea to try and dominate the whole planet?" Megalomaniacs such as that should never be within a mile of foreign or security policy, so of course, they flock to it. Power and its use is flame to these moths.

  5. I was just thinking about Central and South America. Seems to me that if the USA were all it's cracked up to be, those would all be stable, prosperous, constitutional republics. Think of the "good guys" we've supported, like Pinochet (Chile), Batista (Cuba), and others. It's like we wanted the lesser developed nations to stay lesser developed, with dictators in power that would do our bidding on key matters (essentially keeping Russia out). Chiang Kai Shek (sp?)... Surely we could foster the growth of middle class and rule of law in those nations with whom we have the closest geographical relationship, but we do the opposite, driving them into the arms of socialists, every time.
