  1. Yes. I feel the same way about nationalism versus globalism. I don't like the nationalists much, either. They love to concentrate power in the hands of a few, also, and they tend to be rather dismissive of the rights and merits of other countries, because "My country, right or wrong." I'm a LOCALIST. The best central government is a laissez-faire government that intervenes in the economy as little as possible. Every government intervention just feeds the robber barons, no matter how they spin it to sound like "We're going after evil corporations." The most evil corporations laugh all the way to the bank at those kinds of "challenges."

The irony is that all the nations following USA's lead have systematically destroyed their energy infrastructure and their economies, with increasingly authoritarian incentives, disincentives, and mandates. "We're going to end pollution by exporting all our industry to the countries who treat the environment worse than we do."
