@jb-xc4oh What you have to be asleep to believe is that there's some kind of utopia in which everything's perfect and nobody dies. Yes, the U.S. government despises the American Dream, but it still lives on in the hearts of the people, who, left to their own devices, will do more to push the Human Progress Project ahead, with the best results possible and with the least amount of harm to any. The thing that annoys me the most about all of this is the false impression that liberty and free markets at home are what got us to this point. What got us to this point is departing from that model in the name of compassion/safety/security/... and the mistaken belief that government intervention is always good.
