  2. I don't know a ton about hedge funds, but I doubt most or all of them are heavily invested in shorting stocks. My feeble understanding is that hedge funds are built up by taking different kinds of investment instruments. Mortgage hedge funds were hit hard back in 2008, for instance, when there was a foreclosure storm in real estate, thanks to Democrat meddling in banking.
