  1. There are always gonna be lunatics making threats any time you step into the public eye on a controversial subject. Conservatives receive FAR more hate of this sort in proportion to their public profile. But that's never considered a big deal.

  2. If you flipped the question, and there were right-wing radicals threatening a peaceful left-wing demonstration, the university would've let out all the stops to rush to the leftists' assistance, and called the news to report on their heroic stance against violence.
