  2. What my generation doesn't understand is that the "fascism" against which we rail is the fascism we brought about! We took over the establishment and thought we were CHANGING things, but we are actually the new reactionaries!

  3. A lot of people in my generation are fighting for a status quo that has kept them fat and happy since the '60s, and run up debt that none of us will be sticking around to pay off. Apparently, if you don't like seeing the federal government owe more money than the entire gross domestic product, you lack compassion. Where's the compassion for our children and grandchildren? We've knocked the bottom rungs off the ladder of success and told the poor "Don't worry. We'll throw you a rope. You don't need those bottom rungs. Those bottom rungs are racist. You don't need to climb. Just wait and protest until we get that gold-plated rope we're going to throw you. Soon. Very soon. Just wait and protest against the ists and phobes when we tell you to." As a member of the boomer generation who's watched us squander all the prosperity and freedom with big-government wars and big-government domestic programs, these people have been annoying since the 1960s. Yes, Vietnam was messed up. Good protest. No, the bureaucrats aren't leading us into utopia. No, we're not trusting "the experts," any more. We trusted them and they got everything wrong.
