  1. A ceasefire would also be good for Russia. They've made their point. They have saved most of the ethnic Russians in the area, and are well-placed to defend them. Still, I can see where they might want to wrap things up, for as favorable a position for negotiating as possible, because I don't think they're interested in nor do they have any real reason to stop until they reach the Dnepr, which is a good, natural barrier to invasion, of which there aren't that many in Ukraine's rolling landscape.
