  1. If it's witty and irreverent, I usually like it. DeadPool I and II are jewels in an otherwise contrived X-Men cycle. And Robert Downey, Chris Hemsworth, and Don Cheadle have the wit and timing to pull it off in the Avengers cycle. But without their deft touch, you see why not everyone can make it as a comedian. There's an art to it that they will never recapture without Downey, in particular. But without those guys, we're reduced to SJW types, who THINK they're funny, but don't get - and certainly can't tell - a joke. You know the type. The kind of people who fact-check satire. , because they're humorless shitheads. Inserting the humor and reaching through the 4th wall requires a deft touch and they're all auditioning for Edward Scissorhands. You can't simultaneously take yourself as seriously as cancer and be very convincing when simulating light-heartedness.
