  1. Almost. I think it's more about lack of creativity and lack of planning in pre-production, plus interference from corporate execs. The CGI is fine. You just have to use it right.

  2. The CGI served the story, rather than being an abstract spectacle dreamt up by George Lucas, and subordinating the story to the set-piece spectacle. It's been this way since the Star Wars prequels, and is why it was coolly received by discriminating fans, before the woke.

  3. They're too cheap to film real action, properly. And more and more you see movies where they were too cheap to do the CGI properly. Disorienting jump-cuts suck.
