@scatterbrainart : I agree. The problem with SOLO is that the lag of audience rejection means people don't watch the episodes that follow. People were turned off by what went before, so SOLO didn't get a fair shake, and people were hyper-sensitive to the injection of any SJW aspects into SOLO, and there WERE some injections, just not bad enough to turn me off.

Anakin was dismayingly shallow for someone who'd trained since boyhood. His descent into darkness was clumsily handled, in my opinion. That's why I was turned off by the prequels before they totally trashed it with Rey's even less-well-presented hero's arc. The kicker was the gravity-defying battle on the volcano planet, decided by Obi-Wan's "I have the high ground!" finish. Lucas was the prisoner of his own "vision" for spectacle, and made the plot subservient to the over-choreographed fight scenes. Still, the prequels were far better than the last 3 movies. I think the original flaws in the prequels were the result of screenwriters writing directly for the screen, instead of adapting well-written stories for the screen.
