  1. Hollywood was ahead of the curve on racism and homophobia, and messaged us to move the Overton Window quite successfully. Hollywood fortified the war effort during WW I and WW II with government propaganda and believed it was virtue. This isn't all one thing. I think we tolerate a LOT of social messaging and not all of it is bad. But this woke shit is regressive, rather than progressive, and THAT is why it's failing more than any other reason.

  4. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that the mainstream media from which showrunners take their cues do NOT represent the actual feelings, values and attitudes of the viewing public. They think they're tapped in, but all they're tapped into is what champagne socialists are thinking, feeling and doing.
