@Tweety1789 I think that may be closer to the heart of it. Timing. Lots of people probably saw "Strong Female Lead," remembered the misandrist cringe of the intervening years, and didn't want to waste their money on another The Message movie. It's kind of unfortunate, because it sounds like a pretty good movie. I'm someone who kind of lurks on the fringes, who will watch Furiosa and Fury Road in chronological order. It sounds like it might be fun to see them in that order, unlike Star Wars. Part of the Mad Max charm was the reluctant hero/anti-hero aspects of it. Fury Road and Furiosa are definitely derivative, but as a standalone duology, might be pretty good.
