  1. China can't compete with the USA on an even playing field. We just don't hold China accountable for dirty tricks and grant them undeserved "most favored nation" status in trade. And we turn a blind eye to their non-stop theft of our intellectual properties. If we held them to our standards, they wouldn't be able to compete. They wouldn't be able to hit the price point while at the same time treating their workers to any kind of work safety or standard-of-living benchmarks. We subsidize 2nd-rate products produced what amounts to slave labor. They don't have any environmental rules. We're polluting the planet MORE by having them make things for us, and we're paying to ship that stuff clear across the Pacific Ocean! I'd put hefty tariffs on their products, at the very least. If we quit giving China unfair advantages in trade, they would quickly recede into the distance, with their bungling, corrupt, top-down, command economy.
