  3. We wouldn't've had to, if we'd stayed out of the FIRST World War. France and Germany were bickering over the same territories they've been bickering over since almost forever. Once we stuck our nose in, in 1917, we were on a path to WW II. The Germans, with their strong duty-to-tribe-and-country were still susceptible to socialist government, regardless. So maybe WW II was inevitable. But I'm not at all sure that the USA really accomplished anything except to get young Americans killed.
