@ericskelton8368 CO2 in the atmosphere is essential to life and a very, very minor contributor to climate. It's a distraction that gets in the way of many other things we could otherwise do to mitigate our environmental impact. By focusing on CO2 as the boogeyman, we make a small number of people very rich at the expense of every other human being on the planet. Now we're supposed to drop everything and make nothing but electric vehicles? It's absurd and the reduction in CO2 is minimal.

Most of the 20th Century was cooling. The New Ice Age trend reversed around 1978. Et voila: Hockey $tick. Panic. Give up your prosperity and especially your cheap energy and please make my cronies even richer! It's for the planet! Climate changes. We're not its proximal cause. We are spectators whose arrogance and ignorance tricks us into thinking we control everything. Mostly, we just want to control other people. "You offended the gods! That's why the crops failed!"
