  4. The usa didn't even have a constitution until 1789. Even if it wanted to, it hadn't the means to do the French much good. The support the French provided the usa wasn't about liberty and equality. It was about keeping the English occupied and poking a stick in England's eye. The French went to war with Britain in 1778. The usa wasn't even a country, and as soon as it was a country, it was flat broke, and the Confederation (our 1st attempt at self governance) had insufficient taxing authority to do France any good. By the time the (more or less) current constitution was ratified, it was far too late to do Louis XVI (?) any good. And it would've been far too little. No surprise, a Frenchman's take is 'The usa didn't bail us out.' As if our reason for being is to prop up monarchies around the world, and France, in particular, regardless of what government's running things in Gaul.

  5.  @soyuz5824  Russian weapons aren't superior. The sherman tank was outgunned and its armor was inferior. But - as with NATO arms - the "superior" equipment was no match for the sheer number of sherman tanks. NATO super-weapons are too few in number to actually win a war against Russia. How many ATACMs are there in total? How many storm shadow missiles are there in total? How many Leopards are there in total? How many HIMARs? All of Western Aid, bundled together, is orders of magnitude less than what is needed, and they have destroyed their manufacturing base, off-shoring it to nations more kindly disposed to Russia than the West. It's a comedy/tragedy of errors by Western leaders still mired in myths of superiority that have outlived their shelf life. We cut our own throats and still think we're winning.
