  1.  @lordhe11iaon95  This reminds me of a Wizard of Id cartoon, where a reporter went around asking everybody about reports of human rights violations. Everyone he asked said "I can't complain." Puzzled by the uniformly positive responses, the reporter delved deeper. When he asked a citizen why everyone was saying 'I can't complain," the citizen replied "It's simple. They don't let us."

  2. USA would still have an insurmountable lead, if the USA were still a mostly free-market economy with a limited government. We just don't socialist as good as other nations, because of the inconvenience of liberty to the socialist leadership.

  3. Government doesn't "run society." It's purpose is to provide a safe, civil landscape for the PEOPLE to run things. We won the debate on socialism decades ago, but American leadership is totally top-down socialist of the fascist variety. The only difference between fascism and socialism is that under the former arrangement, you can still own your stuff, but a government official will have total say on what you can do with your own stuff. Functionally indistinguishable from socialism from the point of view of the average citizen.

They SHOW the advantages of top-down governance, but they hide the tofu-dregs disadvantages, and the crushing debt incurred by provincial and municipal officials to meet GDP goals set by the CCP leadership. There's a lot of Ponzi-scheming at the foundations of China's economy.
