Intransigence buys the major players another few weeks, months, or even years, in powerful, privileged, and lucrative positions. That's the really sad part. Letting 10s of thousands of people die so a handful of people can keep doing what they're doing.

It has systematically locked them away in the name of the environment, while still basing its economic system on unbounded growth, which does more to hurt the environment than anything else. Planned obsolescence. Perennial government deficits. The only way out in that paradigm is exponential growth. Exponential growth is unsustainable.

  8. The problem with BRICS is that Russia is probably the only fiscally-responsible member of the bunch, and Russia is under a lot of strain. I think that if the sanctions were eased, that BRICS nations would be fine with the petrodollar. But the USA keeps wielding SWIFT and economic sanctions like a club. I think BRICS will have more than its own share of problems, but it may still emerge as a viable alternative if the USA and collective West continue down the path they're on. Trump is trying to break us out of the dysfunction, but he's clinging to too many obsolete narratives.

  9. Yeah. Involvement with Israel and Middle East is becoming 70-30 issue AGAINST. I don't think the FOX war drums or the rest of MSM is able to change that, any more. The viewership isn't there, any more, and many of the viewers, themselves, are starting to break free of the forever-war propaganda.

  10. I think he's balancing a lot of different forces. You and I probably hate Lindsey Graham, but Trump plays up to him to get things done. If there's a strong MAGA takeover of Congress, they can dispense with the RINO's. But it's either play up to the RINOs at least a little bit, or the lock-step Dems can take over, with a few RINOs breaking ranks. Trump has a strong mandate for much of the good he's doing. I don't think he would've won in 2024 without the Zionist and Christian (unquestioningly pro-Israel, and propagandized to be that way by all major news and major churches throughout the country, for 80 years. People who are sincere Christians who grew up during or since WW II, up to about the 1960s, when Protestantism peaked, have Israel, right or wrong, so deeply ingrained, they can't see reason. They'll just tune to Prager or Daily Wire or Gad Saad, because they tell them what they want to hear and what agrees with what they'd been taught from Sunday school and grade school, all the way through high school and even most colleges.

  13. Yeah. That USAID money seems almost invisible stacked up next to the federal budget, but a fraction of its expenditures was enough to take over Ukraine's media. I wonder if the end of the funding is why people are protesting in the streets, including fighting-age young men. The propaganda machine broke.

  14. I think Israel is an artifact of European and British imperialism by American means. We need to treat Israel like we treat any other country, and we need to treat other countries like trade partners. No more proxy wars, either through other nations or on behalf of other nations.
