  1. @Ms. Speak Tha Truth So basically, the short list of things government exists to do are bad, and everything else under the Sun the government SHOULD do. You can make a case for private police, and definitely make the case for locally-paid police. It's when they start following federal "mandates" that they drift farther and farther away from the people. But yes. We've been overwhelmed by lefties who think the government exists to solve all our problems, when the whole point of the USA is we just want to be left the hell alone to solve our OWN problems, with as limited of a central government as possible. The more things they muck up, the more excuses they have to muck MORE things up, world without end.

  3. Hell, they don't even tax us that much. They just steal our savings by spending more than they steal through taxes. That's the dastardly piece of it. But people believe they're getting something for nothing, and then when things get too expensive, they ask for MORE free stuff that they always end up paying double or triple for in the end.

  7.  @ip-sum  I think the 13th Century genocide in the Middle East by the Mongols really set the region back, and the relatively unscathed Christian nations of Europe have been re-drawing the map in that region, at their whim, ever since. And then acting surprised and offended when confronted by asymmetric warfare.

  8. I'm not at all impressed by how Republicans are trying to lay this all at Joe Biden's door. Begging to get our people out is bad. But our good men should never have been sent there.
