  1. I've hated this sort of thing my whole life. In 1980, filling out the housing form for dormitories at college, I left the race question blank. It pissed me off to even see it on the application, because it seemed racist. It turned out very cool for me, because I ended up being the only white guy with a black roommate, and I'd never been around anybody but white people up to that point.
