We can do all the right things with regard to bad-news China, and end up losing our asses when they pull the rug out from under the bond market or any number of other things that could sink our boat, due to our government's indebtedness. The fact that we have and will continue to spend more than we take in, every stinking year puts us in a real bind. It also puts those who already bought our bonds into a bind. Spiraling inflation would damage our creditors, and China's made itself a major creditor. So they're kind of caught up, too. So the sword they hold over our heads dangles over theirs, to a great extent.
