@keithbuchanan8588 Yes. A HUGE segment of society who will unfailingly vote for free stuff provided "by government." "Help from the government" is a euphemism for "taking money from working people by force."

LOL! You KNOW when a politician says "Lock Box," he REALLY means "cookie jar!"

@jonathanburton3866 Nobody's trying to stop the wealthy from being taxed. What sane people argue against is the pea-brain notion that soaking the rich does anything to hurt the rich or help the poor.

@jonathanburton3866 So all the more reason to be skeptical of Bill Gates, no?

It's not about what you LEAVE your kids but how you RAISE your kids. If you raise your kids like spoiled brats, they will grow up to be spoiled brats, regardless of what you leave them in your will. Henry Ford made his kids do chores for a penny here and a penny there, teaching them the value of hard work and frugality. Some others have done the same. Most super-rich just raise spoiled, entitled brats.

You get it. Just watch what the billionaire class does at all times. You can bet they'll protect their wealth in tax and inflation shelters.

Their kids probably have some education advantages and maybe even an edge in self-discipline, given the high-dollar boarding schools they attend.

It's human nature. Donald Trump thinks Donald Trump, Jr is God's Gift. I always think back to Genghis Khan, who bucked tradition and incorporated conquered peoples into his horde, and promoted on merit, rather than according to traditional rights of the nobility. And as soon as he had conquered most of the known world with his innovative "meritocracy," he started its downfall by dividing it more or less equally between his sons! It's just our nature to be that way. We all want to think we created something permanent. Something lasting. It's our nature to want to live forever, and dynasties are an expression of that forlorn hope.
