  1. Democrats definitely made it worse, but the War on Drugs HAS been an abysmal failure. It holds communities hostage to drug cartels, weaponizes the police against the community, hardens the community's hearts towards law enforcement, and makes a lot of money for organized crime AND the law-enforcement apparatus that fights them. Very corrupting of entire communities, where nobody trusts anybody, nobody's safe, and strangers approach your children to sell them drugs.
