  2. DOJ, FBI and the entire Intel Apparat were weaponized against Trump by the previous administrations and hangers-on from the previous administration. There's a large cadre of civil service who've become so accustomed to using the system and their connections to manipulate the system for their benefit, or to benefit any cause they feel strongly about (NEVER TRUMP!), without regard for the law. This is what happens when you demonize your political opponents. It creates a tribal, anything-goes-if-it-serves-the-cause mentality.

That's not to say that there is no dirt on Trump's back-trail, so even though I think Mueller was put on Trump's trail by corrupt and overzealous partisans, I'm not too upset to see people keeping any sitting president a little on the defensive. I wish they'd been more like this with Obama in office. Without the critics prying into every nook and cranny, a kind of self-satisfied rot set in, with entitled officials setting themselves above the law on an every-day basis.
