FARA is only there to punish political opponents, like Michael Flynn. Nobody in D.C. has any problem with foreign agents in the halls of power, as long as everybody's getting a piece of the pie.

It's actually quite shallow and petty. But extremely widespread. A few thousand, here. A hundred thousand there. One by one, bought off for pennies on the dollar of return. Our so-called elites are so EASY to buy off.

@mlanway6731 This is just human nature. This is why the Founding Fathers strictly limited the role and scope of the federal government, and corrupt people have sought at every turn to EXPAND the federal government. It is the nature of power and large institutions. It'd be bad enough if ALL we had to do watch was wasteful spending in the Defense Department.

@muuhoang7592 There's too much power and wealth concentrated in one place. It would take a New-York Minute for the "new" to look just like the old. We need to scale back the role and scope of the federal government. It's the ONLY way to keep a lid on runaway spending and nation-gutting corruption.

@amartin9293 Bill Clinton presided over the granting of most-favored-nation status for China. George W. Bush was president when China joined the WTO. There's nothing wrong with constructive engagement. You show you're making progress, we trade with you a tiny amount. You deny us access to VERIFY, you lose all access to our market. A system of rewards and punishments is easy enough to implement. We just gave them full access and hoped for the best, based on some egghead theory that had never been tested. Same with Domino Theory in Vietnam. Same with regime-change foreign policy in the Middle East. We should engage with all foreign nations. We should not roll out the red carpet to thugs. But 20 years into the red-carpet treatment, we realize China's been at war with us the entire time.

@MsHumble4 Call it "Satan" if you want. It's nothing more than humans forgetting human nature and thinking they can just MAKE everything the way they wish, by ordering everybody to do what they think people should do. They punish the virtuous and are no hindrance to the malign.

@MsHumble4 The 1st Amendment was scrapped in 1934 by well-meaning Christians. The Communications Decency Act of 1995 is just more of the same piled on top. Section 230 is the least of our problems. The idea that the U.S. Government should even HAVE an FCC is ludicrous and unconstitutional.

FOX will never offend its corporate advertisers. It gets a few more things right than the other networks, but it's still very superficial, establishment drivel for smooth-brain consumption, especially on the BIG STUFF.
