This is close to my take, Robert Morris. They have habits of thought and action that are so deeply seated in the psyches, that they're incapable of changing how they operate and what they support. We're witnessing the suicide of an ideology.

Yes. Clinton Foundation folded like a house of cards when it became clear that bribing our government with donations to the Foundation would no longer give foreign interests what they wanted from policymakers.

Wrong, Lucas Romero. GREAT observation. You damn with too-faint praise! But I'm with you!

This is a good sign, TheMick2639. Now, to actually swallow a full DOSE of red pill, you need to ask yourself if it's smart to CREATE these all-powerful government agencies and programs in the first place. THEN you'll be on the Libertarian side, which is where your HEART is, but which your mind still hasn't fully processed. Progressives are sincere in what they want to see in society, but you guys stumble when you put your faith in centralized institutions to create the better society. If all the people who voted FOR government handouts and government power put their money where their mouth is in their own neighborhoods, they'd solve more poverty and help more people than any government program ever devised by corrupt demagogues to stay in POWER (and GROW that power). Progressives are like the kings in Lord of the Rings who arrogantly believed that THEY were so special that they - and they alone - were enlightened enough to use the One Ring to do only good. The One Ring, itself, is the problem!

His advice to Dems is good advice, even though he's been acting like a hatchet man for years on this.

We're still vulnerable to a crash, due to the Fed and deficit spending. They still could come out on top. I'm still semi-pessimistic. But if things keep going the way they are, Trump will keep his majority in Congress and maybe even a filibuster-ending super-majority in the Senate. (Too much to hope for, but one can still hope).

He IS touching on a main truth, which is that MOST of the country still believes in nanny government and Free Stuff. What's dragging down the Dims is the excesses at the top that go hand-in-hand with promoters of Free Stuff. There's still buy-in. They just don't have any successes to point to in their policies. The cities they've controlled for decades show the fruits of their policies. And that's where Republicans need to aim their sights, in the unlikely event that the Dims DO try to make it a debate on policy, rather than just a "bash Trump" strategy. Thank God Americans Still Love the Underdog!

Establishment Republicans still are incapable of arguing against Free Stuff. They gave up on that in the '90s to try and hold a majority during Clinton's administration, instead of sticking to their guns on issues.

Good point about corporate and capital gains taxes. The "socialist utopias" in Europe had far lower corporate taxes than the U.S. Anybody who knows ANYthing about economics knows that capital gains taxes simply reduce investment in jobs for regular folks. And corporate taxes simply chases business out-of-country. I love the way Hollywood pushes the liberal agenda and then shoots all their films in obscure locations overseas, because it's cheaper!

Sorry, Schumer. Your party has no game EXCEPT exploiting anti-Trump hysteria.

"Giving rights" is a misnomer. We all are born with the same rights, whether governments recognize them or not! We didn't give the slaves freedom. We restored their inalienable RIGHTS. We didn't give the women the RIGHT to vote. We stopped depriving them of something they were already entitled to. But yes. It is a lot harder to limit government to its rightful place, when feminine thought tends to security > freedom. What women don't understand is that limited government is the only way to keep asshole MEN from walking all over women AND men. When they learn this lesson they join the 54% of white women who voted against the Dims.

You haven't seen the half of it. Lots of reasons for those 2 special elections' results that are not related to what the heartland's thinking and will be voting. Dims will be lucky to maintain the number of seats they have. The Trump base is more mobilized and growing. And the Democratic base is pretty turned-off by the Dimocrats' shenanigans.

Mark down and other red-pilled Democrat! We're winning, one good person at a time!

Yes. He seems more troll-provocateur than anything. Gives Dimocrats an excuse to paint us with the racist brush.
