  2. Schumer characterizes Trump as a liar, by mis-characterizing Trump's negotiating tactics. If you're way out in left field, Trump's starting position is way out in right field. He's been a salesman and a negotiator for DECADES, and he makes no secret of what he's trying to accomplish. He's also been the chief executive of a pretty big real estate empire, and he knows how to use SIZE to sit on his opposition. Some deride him for it, because he's had some disputes with contractors and won, largely by letting the courts hash things out. This tariff on Mexico is such a tactic. He can't make them do ANYthing, but he can make life more uncomfortable for Mexico than conversely, assuming the Republican Party Insiders don't stab him in the back, and relieve the pressure on the Mexican government to stop equipping armies of illegal immigrants to storm our borders.
