  1. Milo's rhetoric is not Nazi rhetoric, snowflake. And using the term "snowflake" is reserved for those who don't melt whenever they hear an idea that wasn't spoon-fed to them by other snowflakes. Liberal used to mean speaking truth to power. Now it means using power to silence those who speak truth. Violence, the weight of government, and harassment are the tools of people who CALL themselves "liberal." Liberal used to mean shedding the yoke of government oppression. Those college professors actually believe the bankrupt ideology they're peddling, and while the tide may have peaked and is now on the ebb at places like Berkeley, a lot of the out-of-the-way institutions are heading down the same path as Berkeley was. They want me to be race conscious in the classroom. I want to be color blind, and assess each of my students on the objective merits of the content (math) that I'm supposed to teach. IDGAF what color or persuasion you are. If you want to learn, I'm here for ya. If you care more about your identity than Cauchy's Theorem, I'm gonna have a problem with you. It makes me sick. I'm looking for a job outside of academia this summer. The bureaucracy grows without end, and teaching and learning are taking a back seat.

Who decides what's best for me? Me? Or some bureaucrat? You think a bureaucrat can do a better job of providing for you than YOU can. That's fucked-up. That's where I part ways with guys like Jimmy Dore, whom I adore for seeing so much of the truth, but not to its core. The core truth is that government having too much power and say over our lives is the problem. The minute something's in gov't hands, monied interests target the decision-makers, and what we THINK we're getting isn't what we're getting. Who's destroying old-growth forest? The Forest Service! They build roads to the old growth without which the harvesting of those forests would not be economic. Who's keeping us from converting from wood stoves to rocket mass heaters? The EPA! I could go on and on with this. PEOPLE take better care of themselves and their neighbors when they are NOT dependent on government for everything... when they DON'T look for government to step in and solve all their problems.

  39. It does start way before college. Sending your kids to public school in today's society is nothing less than child abuse. Parents who love their kids and give a damn need to explore the MANY QUALITY, LOW-COST opportunities to get an education that are OUTside the establishment institutions.
