  1. They're not talking to America. They're talking to the small and dwindling fraction of the American people who still think legacy media provide fact-based news. Personally, I think this is how it should be, and the whole country was put to sleep by the networks and what they chose to present. While we scoffed at how gullible the German people were in the '30s and '40s, we were easily stampeded to war in Iraq in the '00s of the 21st century. The news media LOVED it, because they got a special pass to ride with the military. "Embedded" they called it, and it was great theater and great ratings. Made a lot of journalists think they were privileged, and somehow occupied a position higher than the rest of us. Fredo even talked about how it'd be illegal to tell you things he can legally know, apparently because he has a humanities degree and a press pass.
