  1. Since when did raising taxes help the American people? History shows that "punishing" big companies invariably makes it more difficult for small companies to compete against big companies. It's a time-honored bait-and-switch. What makes life tougher for big companies makes life impossible for small companies. Every time the government intervenes in the name of soaking the rich or soaking the big corporations, we see the industry in question trend toward monopoly. FaceBook, itself, received massive help from the government, as did all Big Tech. They're favored companies. They cry all the way to the bank.

  2. If they're platforms, then they can't be publishers. The phone company doesn't (or shouldn't) monitor your phone conversations for mis/disinformation. These platforms should just be platforms Let there be OTHER companies who assist users in personalized filters. Platforms should provide some filtering options, but NOT have ANYthing to do with curating content and removing content behind the scenes. See something illegal on social media? Report it to law enforcement and spread the word on social media to draw attention to it. It's not some gender-studies graduate's job to arbitrate truth for the masses. If you WANT that, then I'm sure you can find it. After COVID, RussiaGate and Bidengate, we know that things are not good. First thing I'd do is abolish the Communications Decency Act. I'm not for indecency. I just don't think it's the federal government's place to regulate speech in any way whatsoever.
