@carlbowles1808 We may already be IN the black hole. COVID Relief is HUGE chunk of change, controlled by idiot politicians and bureaucrats. We'd be so much better off without their "help." Their "help" is the reason the economy's in such a mess in the first place. Spending money we don't have for what the politicians THIINK we need just makes things worse for everybody. Sure, they can point to the direct beneficiaries, but they can't point to the millions of people who get ground down farther and farther for the privilege of celebrating the Potemkin "victories."

@skeletalremains3860 That won't solve anything, because the Congress legislates on matters far beyond its remit and expertise. It NEEDS people from industry to tell them what will break it, because they don't want to break it. The only way to reduce their dependence on lobbyists is to quit legislating on everything under the sun. If it doesn't relate to Constitutional guarantees of individual rights, crimes across state lines, national defense or foreign trade and import/export tariffs, it's not for the feds to decide! Get the feds out of everybody's business and then they won't be targets and pawns and puppet masters of lobbyists.

Bernie leaves out the 48 OTHER senators Manchin and Sinema are agreeing with. It's not like it'd be unanimous with their vote. It's that the nutty Democrat establishment wouldn't get its way.
