  1. People see the hand-in-glove relationship between government and big business and instead of calling it out as the fascist variant of socialism, they brand it "runaway capitalism." These relationships could not exist without the government overstepping its bounds and turning AWAY from free-market capitalism. So what we have are people attacking the things America got right, and demanding MORE of what America got wrong. This is why Antifa resonates with so many. The American system has MANY fascist features. The problem with Antifa is they think the solution is their OWN version of socialism, which is the exact same pig, with a different shade of lipstick.

  2. All systems are capitalist. The question is who controls the capital: the state or the individual. Free-market capitalism is the goal. Crony capitalism is fascism. Even full-blown socialists invest to obtain a return. They don't shut down the coal mines when they usher in socialism. They just stop caring about the worker or the environment. Free-market capitalism more closely reflects the morals of the people. Socialism reflects the imperatives and lack of morals of the worst people.

  3. The commies stopped promoting communism after word of the Soviet Gulag got out in the 1920s. Since that time, they've systematically attacked free-market capitalism, demonizing it at every opportunity. Now that it's been discredited, sufficiently, they're coming out of the woodwork as openly socialist/communist.

  4.  @jimjoejohnson1671  Nobody's really out to do what's right, which is why we need to strictly curtail the role and scope of government, itself. Then, no matter who's in office, they can't mess everything up for everybody. "Give ME the magic wand that can control everything!" "No! Give ME the magic want that can control everything! That other guy is crazy!" There's no real groundswell of PEOPLE rising up and saying "NObody should have a magic wand that controls everything!"

  7. Sort of. But there're billionaires who can make trillions by losing millions propping up failing media. And legacy media are still quite profitable, despite their dwindling audiences. But they don't NEED massive audiences, as long as they generate narratives the rich and powerful wish to promote, and government pretends the media is a reflection of the will of the people.
