Maybe they just want to run against Trump instead of a more capable CEO like DeSantis, who's already navigated governance of a big state, and he doesn't say stupid things like Trump is prone to do. They can split the vote easier over Trump than over a solid governor. That lady up in the Dakotas looks like a good VP, but you just don't have the kind of metro malaise in the Dakotas. She could be in over her head, at first, making the jump to national. But she showed true statesmanship and class in crisis.
