  3. I don't believe the "99.9% of FBI are wonderful." One of the reasons Horowitz couldn't find "the" leaker because inappropriate contacts with and favors from journalists to DOJ and FBI officials were so widespread they could only be described as "systemic." Maybe it was just a handful of bad apples and political appointees, but the sense one gets, especially after the prim pronouncements from guys like Comey, is that there was a culture of "anything goes" if you were on the right team or in the right club.

  4. I'm withholding judgement on Gowdy. It depends on how things turn out. So far, he's been smoke and no fire.

  5. He's got some kind of thyroid thing or something, with his eyes all bugged-out. It also seems like he was slowly balding, but gained a lot of forehead since he first came onto my radar.

  6. You can look at this two ways: A danger to Trump; or, a way to put a lot of rascals in one basket, so they can be kept under observation. If they're as bad as you say they are, then all of them being on Mueller's team puts them under intense security, with everybody and their dog looking for a false move. If they DO cover anything up, the act of covering-up might be the only thing Trump could get them on, because they long since destroyed the evidence that could convict them, assuming there were any such evidence. Maybe putting them in CHARGE is the easiest (or only) way to bring them down, or at least take the wind out of their sails.

  7. I think Trump's been playing the Democrats like fish, since his first meeting with Admiral Rogers. I think they've been playing rope-a-dope, while they weeded out the more blatant never-Trumpers, like Strzok, who cared more about taking Trump down than about the integrity of the institutions and constitution they swore to serve.
