What I think is happening is that the total domination of the public square by corporate-left establishment types was finally achieved, and instead of being the unconditional victory they expected, it merely showed the true level of corruption and incompetence at the highest levels of the groups that want to play that way. I think it's a mental defect - a sociopathy - that allows people to think it's OK to break the rules in order to win. That same mental defect makes them blunder in a multitude of ways. These types of people are axe murderers, who wave their blood-and-gore-covered weapon, expecting cheers. Their contempt for humanity earns contempt FROM humanity.
