  3. I don't see any conflict. Trump's saying the U.S. has been paying more than its fair share, and Macron agrees. It's stupid to put yourself under the protection of a country that owes you nothing, and whose interests aren't necessarily the same as yours. Europe's been acting like self-centered cowards for a long time. The fact of the matter is that Europe is very small and weak in the larger scheme of things, and they've been propped up in their self-indulgent ways since WW II. I think it's funny, myself. Trump's had 3 actually important meetings with foreign leaders: China, North Korea and Russia. Europe's basically a joke, nowadays, too busy contemplating its navel to be a real player on the world stage.
