  3. I think (hope) you're right. If they just acted sane, they could ride the momentum of over half a century of dumbing-down and propagandizing the public. Trouble is, the Left have been so successful, that their followers enthusiastically put their hysteria and ignorance on full display. Maybe the only thing that could've fueled a red wave, in a land where most of the important debates on the proper role and scope of government had already been suppressed.
