Woodward's entire career, since Deep Throat handed him the scoop of the century in the 1970s, has been built on the claim that every Republican since Nixon has been unfit for office. This comes as no surprise, nor does it inform me any better than I was before I heard what he had to say THIS time. Mattis is a never-Trump partisan, who tried to launch a military coup, because he didn't like Trump's sane foreign policy. He wanted neocons/neolibs to keep calling the shots, with never-ending wars in the Middle East and regime change throughout the region. This kind of Cold Warrior needs to be OUT of our defense and foreign-policy establishments. We lurch from one disaster we create the next one we create. Trump is the first CEO of the USA to try to END that.
