  1. Big government deprives the citizen of responsibility and by so doing, deprives the citizen of authority. Progressives are part of the build-up of the gov't monolith, but "liberals" in general support it, even as their rights erode, daily. They decry 'crony capitalism' and in the same breath push for the exact sort of institutional framework that enables the corruption, and HIDES it under MILES of documents and overlapping agencies, etc. Nobody can parse the monster. We just know it's a monster.
