I have mixed feelings about any arms deals, period. But to say you're afraid those weapons will be used against Iran's proxies, when the strategy is to put economic pressure on Iran to change its ways. More than one government has brought itself down by meddling, abroad. It comes down to the return of affordable eggs to the neighborhood market. I don't understand the concerns about Iran shutting down the Straits. It's their lifeline, selling oil (at very good prices) to the Chinese. It's almost like they're holding a knife to their own throats and threatening "I'll do it!" We should just sit back and say "Please don't," but let them cut their own throats if they want. In the meantime, as long as they're projecting force beyond their borders in the region, there needs to be a price attached. This is something I don't think the last few presidents understood. They'd act weak and then get violent. Why not just act strong and not be violent?
