  1. Small business = The American Way. Of course Democrats despise small business. On the OTHER hand, a huge bailout for businesses that were probably marginal BEFORE WuFlu just props up non-competitive enterprises. It's probably better to just focus on beefing-up unemployment insurance, to tide workers over until things open up. There will be an EXPLOSION of new businesses and business models after the lockdown ceases. Big government programs to preserve what WAS will obstruct a better IS and better WILL BE. Insta-cart. Restaurant delivery drivers. Graders for online math and English. This could be the fulcrum for some very positive shifts in the economy. More efficient. Greener. Not a single law needing to be passed. Just a culture shift. White-collar workers don't need to live and work in the city.

  2. Republicans gave up their principles a long time ago, in order to compete. They couldn't beat the Dems with their big hand-outs so the Republicans JOINED the Dems on big spending. And the Dems joined the Republicans in that Cold-War mentality. So the worst of both sides is what both sides now agree on and nobody (but me, apparently) is standing back and keeing score. I had a lot more respect for Republicans when they still fought for limited government. I had more respect for Dems when they used to care about bloated military budgets and adventurism, abroad.
