  1. They operated essentially without restraint and still hold a near-monopoly on legacy media. Unfortunately for them, controlling those media no longer constitutes a blackout on the truth. They're still not figuring this out. I see it on CNN and MSNBC all the time. "How can the public think this way, after our smear campaign?" It's hilarious. Their propaganda is failing, so they figure it must be the Russians or that everybody (outside their echo chamber) is really stupid, and just needs to be YELLED at, like a stupid American touring Europe thinking that YELLING somehow makes them more understandable, when really it just turns off the natives.
