I'm pretty sure he made all his money back, and he was careful to make sure he had plenty of government subsidies before he ever took on the automobile project. I don't think he has a huge stake in the long-term success of any of his projects, so long as he makes his money back fairly quickly, which he usually does.

@gottliebdee263 They're overbuilt for what they're good for and underbuilt and undersupported for what they claim. So yeah, fanbois and virtue-signalers.

@gottliebdee263 It's not "Why should they not have one," but "Why should I have to pay taxes to support their decision to own one?" They're doing all they possibly can to boost EV adoption, except improve the electric grid and our electric generating capacity. If EVs are a great idea, then you don't need MY money to indulge your desire to own one!

@gottliebdee263 They sold EVs as The Replacement for ICVs and the president himself said they would be phasing out ICVs by 2030, which is utterly ridiculous. There is a balance to be struck, but the fanboys, government, and media are absolutely over-the-top with the claims they make about EVs. Yes, there's a balance to be struck between old and new, and we skeptics have become knee-jerk in our disdain for the EVangelists.
