@NotFalling4it When they get it blatantly wrong and mess with people's lives, unjustly, there should be severe punishments. It's right up there with bearing false witness, which should be punished the same way as you'd punish the falsely accused, if found guilty. The way these people can put your life in jeopardy at little or no risk to themselves is disgusting. In the USA, they can go after a sitting president with illegally obtained warrants and CLEAR malice, and nothing happens to them. There've always been those who operate above the law. It's more blatant, now. They do it right out in the open, and if you're on the wrong side of it, you have no remedy.

Sheer incompetence. The officers who made the arrest were not at fault. But for the detective to not check against the 911 description is dereliction of duty, with severe consequences for an innocent citizen.

I think their punishment should be in proportion to the harm they cause.

@melgraner175 I think her father was her enabler her whole life. I don't think he abused her. I think he made excuses for her.

@tristan2799 : If she were a sociopath, wouldn't she have fewer tells?

It's not as if they're pulling him away from work. Maybe he just thought it was cool that anyone wanted to hang out. An unemployed guy who will spend 1/4 million on a porn site isn't getting much social interaction.

@jessika702 To some people, EVERYthing is rahcissist. They're the worst racists of all.

I seem to be bingeing these. Fresh off Casey Anthony case, where the murder was much more cold-hearted and the suspect far more annoying. But Casey Anthony got off, scot free. In this case, the suspect was "off," but didn't seem nearly as calculating. More of a loose screw, goaded on by the hypocrisy of the victim, who KNEW she had a screw loose, but kept on tappin' it and playing that Christian guilt game I've seen so many Mormons do.

Yes. And I'm pretty sure I would react more like that first guy. In crisis, a switch flips, and I get very cold and analytical. The more upset I am on the inside, the more controlled I appear on the outside. They'd probably "read" me as some kind of psychopath, even though I'd be fuming inside and holding myself in check.

In the USA, we call people like that cop "Democrats."

@InkyGhoul So, still fighting a war your betters won over a half-century ago? Get off it.

Cop reads him his rights and then tells him it's in his own best interests to talk without a lawyer present, after reading him his rights which state he has the right to an attorney and anything he says can and will be used against him in court. No fan of an addict who commits crime to support his drug habit, but he'd be a fool to open up to this cop.

@blakehall2945 Even if you're innocent, copping a plea can seem like the safest course, because they have all the power and you have none.
