@Creaserunner Government-run health care, education, and control of media. This is the tripod on which fascism rests. When the government controls that, it controls pretty much everything and anything it wishes, and boy does government have a long wish list! We have a thin layer of private insurance for the suckers who work and pay their own way, but a vast customer base of government-paid services that totally dominate the health care system.

America took a bite of socialism during the 1930s and it swallowed that bite in the 1960s. It's been a slow, downhill slide ever since, with government getting bigger and the people getting smaller, every year.
