  1. It's a fascinating tension between regressive tradition and unbridled change without thought to consequences. These are two poles. May we all find the proper balance, somewhere in between. Tradition exists because it works well enough to propagate itself over large spans of geography and time. It is not to be cast aside, lightly, when the new way hasn't proved itself sustainable for even 5 minutes. We see the authoritarianism in them. They see the decadence in us.
