That's always been the problem in a small town or on a farm. The kids see a better opportunities for themselves in the city. But maybe that's changing, or about to change. As an old fart, I wouldn't trade growing up in a small, out-of-the-way place as a kid. I pity kids who grew up in the big city. I'm sure I missed out on some opportunities, but no city kid had my fishing hole to himself, all day long. No city kid has a crick 100 yards from the back door, and free run of miles of it.

@xxdomixx1085 Town of about 400, but we served surrounding areas, so we had a bank, gas stations (2), grocery stores (2), a dry goods store, hardware store, fire house, post office, and a barber shop. I'd show my day's catch to the barber on the way home. Good times.
