  3. Yes. They decry free markets and competition, because actual competition is a threat to the existing power structure. So they embed themselves in the power structure by bitching about the power structure. It's a sham that's cracked amazingly rapidly with the proliferation of ideas spurred on by the internet and social media competing with mainstream media. Mainstream media have been on governmental lockdown since ABC, NBC and CBS were still just radio networks.
