  2. Yes. I learned a lot about the mind-set of law enforcement during COVID, watching them enforce illegal and non-binding declarations on mandates and lockdowns.

  7. If you look into how judges are "elected" and once in office, basically can't be seriously run against, it all looks like racketeering by a clique of corrupt lawyers. Looking at what Congress - a bunch of lawyers - cranks out every year, I'd like to see a law passed barring lawyers from the legislature. If a carpenter can't understand the laws being passed, those laws shouldn't be passed.

  10. Meh. We have 330 million people in this country and I don't know how many police. Even if it's only 1% of 1% doing it, you can still keep yourself busy 24/7 with pathological people and situations. Don't lose your sense of perspective because you see a bunch of bad ones. That's against a backdrop of hundreds of thousands or millions of interactions. Yes, once is too many, but I doubt it's as "rampant" as this shock porn has you thinking.

  17. Hmmmm. If it's a lithium battery going off in a big way, it's a death sentence to stay in that basement trying to put it out. That stuff's nasty and you can't put it out with water or a fire extinguisher.
